Abstract

Analyze the background and growth of the sustainablility movement in the California wine industry, with a focus on the Lodi and Napa regions. What prompted wine growers and vintners to change their methods of production in the past twenty years in order to become more sustainable? Analysis of trade journals, California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) workbooks and curricula will be central to the study.
